THE FOLLOWING ARE THE PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS FOR LICENSURE AS A HOME INSPECTOR:

  1. Have successfully completed high school or its equivalent
  2. Have successfully completed a home inspector course of study at a school approved by the New Jersey Department of Education
  3. Have performed at least 40 hours of home inspections, including preparation of home inspection training reports under the direct on-site supervision of a licensed home inspector
  4. Have passed the National Home Inspection Examination
  5. Maintain an errors and omissions insurance policy in the minimum amount of $500,000 per occurrence
